Serving Our Community for More Than 120 Years
The Battle Creek YMCA is a friendly non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening our local community while building strong minds and strong bodies. (Read a special welcome message) Founded in 1889, we focus on three primary goals today:
Youth Development: Nurturing the potential of every child and teenager
Healthy Living: Improving the community’s health and well-being
Social Responsibility: Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
Your YMCA is on the front line of positive change in Calhoun County – from adult literacy and
pre-school child care to cancer screening and youth leagues, this is the place where real change takes place. Thousands of people every year. All ages, all sizes, all backgrounds. (Facebook)
To put Christian Principles into Practice through Programs that build healthy Spirit, Mind and Body for all.
We build Strong Kids, Strong Families, Strong Communities.
Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility
Part of a Worldwide Movement
The very first YMCA was established in London, England, in 1844 and the first U.S. chapter opened in 1851. Our Battle Creek YMCA opened in 1889. (The antique photo above shows our men's basketball team in 1910.)
Today, the YMCA is a worldwide organization with 45 million members in 125 countries. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
Your support of the Battle Creek YMCA make it possible for us to serve thousands of local families and children every year.
